Planetary Gearbox

Never worry about burning belts again. Priefert Walkers run on a planetary gear box system similar to those used in heavy earth moving equipment like track hoes. This provides years of virtually maintenance free, reliable operation.

Serious “Horse Power”

Priefert walkers operate using a reliable Siemens 3 horsepower motor, which has the strength, speed, and torque to withstand 2000 pounds of downward pull while conditioning up to eight horses at once.

Connection Points

Each walker arm features a quick release cable with a spring-loaded pin connector attachment point. This allows for a fast and secure connection point for putting horses on the walker, while also providing the safety of a emergency release point should it be needed.

Weatherproof Finish

Every Priefert Walker is powder coated in our in-house facility using a durable architectural grade powder coat finish which will extend the life and beauty of your purchase for years to come. This electrostatically applied, baked-on finish is resistant to weather, rust, and chipping.

Variable Speed & Direction

From warmup and cool down to intense training, Priefert walkers offer a variable speed adjustment, giving users the option to match the walker session to the needs of individual horses. To ensure that horses are not overworked in one direction, Priefert walkers are fully reversible to provide even conditioning.

Emergency Shutoff

Safety for horse and handler is always a top priority, which is why Priefert walkers feature an emergency shutoff at the control box should users need to quickly stop their walker for any reason. Priefert’s Lead Walkers also include an emergency release pull on each arm, located near the walker's base.

Options

Multiple Configurations

Priefert Lead Walkers offer users the opportunity to select a 4-horse, 6-horse, or 8-horse model. The 4-horse configuration creates a 42’ diameter working path for horses, while the 6-horse model creates a 52’ path and the 8-horse model creates a 72’ path.

Control Box

Users have the option to select Priefert’s standard push button control box or the touchscreen control box. Each option is contained in a weather-resistant metal housing featuring a UV laminate to help protect against the deteriorating effects of the sun. Both boxes are user-friendly and include a wireless remote control that allows the user to adjust the speed and direction of the walker.

The Push Button Control Box features large, labeled buttons. The time control switch offers a 15, 30, or 60 minute run time. Additional buttons allow the user to increase or decrease the speed, and to change the direction of the walker. The Touchscreen Control Box provides users with the option to program automated workouts by saving up to 20 different pre-programmed routines with up to 12 steps per routine. Each can be customized by speed, direction, and duration, to provide the appropriate level of exercise for a variety of horses.

Control Box Pedestal

The optional control box pedestal is designed to house either control box option. Installation requires a concrete anchor bolt kit, allowing the pedestal to be placed next to the horse walker or in a separate location depending on the owner’s preference. The sleek design allows the conduit to run inside the stand, hiding it from view. The pedestal features an architectural grade powder coat finish and comes with pre-drilled mounting brackets for the control box.
