The Sternum Bar is designed as an option for Arrowquip's lineup of chutes for cattle. The newest version comes fully sheeted to prevent hoof traps, and is easily installed with two bolts. The purpose of the Sternum Bar is to keep cattle from going down in the chute by supporting the sternum and limiting space at the bottom of the chute to keep them upright during stressful situations such as AI and pregnancy checks. This is an effective option for high-stress cattle who are prone to lying down in the chute, and can be removed quickly and easily when it is not required.
Supports Stressed-Out Livestock
Cattle that are stressed are more likely to go down when placed in a confined space, such as an alley or chute. The Sternum Bar supports the sternum, keeping cattle upright in the chute when they attempt to lay down.
Improved Efficiency
Downed cattle can cause large time delays to processing cattle, as they are often reluctant to get up and allow handlers to complete their processing tasks. Keeping cattle upright in the chute can greatly improve the efficiency of your operation, especially when completing tasks that are stressful for your livestock.
Easy Installation and Removal
The Sternum Bar is easy to install and remove from the chute, with just two bolts. The ability to quickly install and remove the sternum bar is especially important when working a mixed group of cattle.
Designed for Arrowquip Chutes for Cattle
The Sternum Bar is specially designed for the Arrowquip line of chutes for cattle, and can be installed quickly and easily in all Q-Catch and Q-Power models.
